Robert Earl Keen in Concert
Robert Earl Keen and his band were in Atlanta at the variety Playhouse last night. This was a highly anticipated concert with my wife and me. Getting there on a Thursday night was the big issue. Driving was fine until you reached downtown Atlanta and where I-75 and I-85 merge. You have to be alert driving in this area and that time of day, because drivers change lanes constantly. The good news was we didn't see any accidents nor were we involved in one. This is an area where you sometimes think about the GA auto insurance policy that you have. You want to have high limits of liability insurance along with equal limits of uninsured motorist coverage and comprehensive and collision on your car. Once we got off of the interstate we had clear sailing to the Variety Playhouse.
This is a great venue for a concert. The sound is great, the lighting during the show is always incredible, and you have a place to sit, and they also have a superb staff. It is one one of our favorite places to see live music. The Variety Playhouse was packed with enthusiastic music fans of different ages waiting to see the Robert Earl Keen Band. We have seen them several times before, and it is always a treat. You need to get out of your den and see live music. Robert Earl keen and his band were late for the sound check, because their van broke down on their way from Greenville, SC. They got over this mishap, because the band was "on" last night, and the crowd was in to it. The performance was incredible. It looked like the Variety was sold out. The musicians in his band are of the highest quality. Rich Brotherton who is originally from Augusta, Georgia is just an incredible guitar player. The first half of the show was done with acoustic guitar, and the second half of the show Rich played electric guitar. The show kept building in excitement until the end with the rousing The Party Never Ends which is a crowd favorite. The band came back for two encores. You gotta see Robert Earl Keen on stage, he is so personable and likeable speaking to the crowd and loving what he is doing, singing great songs with wonderful music. He plays acoustic guitar with the band. The pedal steel player really adds to the excitement of the show. The drummer and the electric bass player are perfect for the band.
After the concert, we had a pleasant trip back home and another late night getting to bed. We were protected by our GA auto insurance policy all of the way home.
